11 Secret Herbs and Spices Revealed!

A Scrumptious Batter Exposed

special batter that ball pythons love

I'm going to share a recipe of a batter with you today. No, it's not the secret recipe used for making KFC chicken, it's the secret recipe used for making delicious rats!

If your hatchling ball pythons prefer mice over rats, use this recipe to make a batter that most ball pythons will enjoy. Are you ready for the 11 secret herbs and spices? Here they go!

Feeder mice for ball pythons

Do you see the the ingredients in the above photo? Take a closer look at the photo. See the ingredients now? No, it's not the mice themselves but their soiled substrate! Yes, their substrate is the batter used to coat rats with. It's called "scenting" and is the term used to describe masking the scent of your rats with the scent of mice.

I remove the soiled substrate from the breeder cages of my mice and place the rats in it (rat pinkies, rat pups, weaned rats, etc) for a minute or two. I make sure the rats are completely covered in the soiled substrate and then I offer them to my ball pythons that only eat mice. Most of the ball pythons will smell them by flicking their tongue and then they'll grab, constrict and consume the prey item. Bon Appétit!

Have a happy 4th of July!

That's awful. Don't you feel anything for those poor little mice and rats? I supposee it's necessary to keep your snakes alive, but you sound like you enjoy it.

Lainy: I don't enjoy it, it's just necessary and occurs naturally in the wild (ie. food chain).

It is natural for snakes to eat mice!!! And if you think mice are so nice smell a couple some time that might change your mind!

Dear Steph,

I have smelled plenty of mice and that has oh so surprisingly not shifted my opinion on this issue

What the **** is natural about a mouse or rat bred and selected by a human being stuck in a vivarium with no escape whatsoever with a snake, which also has no business being there?

This is clearly some form of pathetic bloodlust or ego massage for this pathetic individual, as frozen foods can be purchased...or ooh, let me see, better yet he could not have his ****ing snake

Duhhh
