Ball Python Buyers Beware!

I've been hearing a lot of bad news lately about some of the ball pythons that are being sold by other breeders and non-breeders alike. I'm hearing reports that many people see good deals but the supposed good deal is really a bad deal, a truly bad deal at that. For instance, someone phoned me today about a snake that was sent by a breeder that was infested with ticks and mites. I've also heard that people were paying for females and were sent low quality males instead. Just take a look at some of the posts in our ball python forum from people that bought a "cheap" animal only to pay a substantial amount of money in the way of expensive vet bills and medications. Ask yourself this question, "Why are they asking questions in the RCReptiles.com ball python forum when they purchased their animal from someone else?" The answer is because they're unable to get help and support for their animal and come to the most respected ball python forum on the Internet for help. A good number of breeders and non-breeders alike simply want to take your money and could care less about the customer or the animal itself.

I'm not trying to tell you these things to scare you and make you buy from us. I'm sharing this with you so you'll be alert and more aware if you decide to purchase a ball python from someone else. I know many of you base your purchases solely on the price of an animal opposed to the quality, integrity, excellent customer satisfaction track record and name recognition but be careful if that's the route you choose to take.

Yes, I'd like to earn your business but I know that many of you will purchase elsewhere solely on price and realize the mistake you made when you receive your animal (that's even if you receive it at all). Before you consider purchasing a ball python elsewhere ask yourself these questions:

1. Does the breeder offer a 30-day health guarantee like RCReptiles.com does?
2. Can I phone the breeder with questions and do they have a support infrastructure in place like RCReptiles.com?
3. Out of all the transactions they've done with their customers, do they have one unhappy customer? To-date, every one of our customers has been completely satisfied with their animal and the level of support received from us.
4. Will the breeder be around in the future if I need help with the animal or will I have to go to a forum like the one on RCReptiles.com and embarrass myself by asking for help about an animal I purchased elsewhere?

Like I said, I'd love the opportunity to earn your business and our track record is second to none but If you do decide to purchase elsewhere just realize and know that you could be getting yourself into a lot of trouble or cause yourself a big headache in the long run. This is just something for you to think about before you purchase your next ball python.
